Meet Jen

I have been a professional photographer for over 14 yrs and a Certified Master Photographer, and Master Artist through PPA. I have served as the President for Professional Photographers of Idaho and love the community!

My background - Born and raised Idahoan. I focused on Fine Art in college creating paintings, drawings, and sculpting. I love to collaborate to create conceptual work for clients and entering print competitions. I have raised 4 amazing children with my hubby am now an "empty nester".

Favorite pastime - Movies! I love beautiful cinematography, story lines that make you think, feel emotion, or leave you a different person.

Dog or cat person? Both! Started out as a dog person and have evolved to a mixed household love them both for different reasons.

Guilty pleasure - Rocky Road Ice Cream...or any chewy chocolaty dessert. Oh, and I am a podcast junky!

What I'm scared of - Heights...either up on a super high building, or the idea of being deep under water both terrify me.

Drives me batty - Negative attitudes. You can't improve your reality if you won't even try.

Special moment - Being honored at Imaging USA as one of my images was selected to represent the USA in the World Photographic Cup!

When is the best time to book?: Today! Don't wait to loose those last 10 pounds before you book that family session. Trust me, it may not happen...but the clock keeps ticking as your children keep growing and changing!

For High School Seniors: If your school allows you to submit your own portraits for the yearbook, usually the deadline is around early November up to January, depending on the school. If your students do sports, consider the best time to get access to their uniforms/equipment, and consider practice and tournament schedules. If you like lots of greenery and flowers, consider the Summer before senior year. If you love the Fall colors, still book early because when school starts, because my Fall calendar may already be full!
Do you submit the yearbook photo for High School Seniors?: Yes! Included in your session fee is a complimentary portrait of your choosing (within the school's requirements) directly to the yearbook staff at your school. I have the ability to photograph the traditional "Tux and Drape" poses if needed. Please allow about 2 weeks after the session for images to be edited and submitted for deadlines.
What do I wear for portraits?: We will discuss suggested wardrobe options during your free in-person consultation. Answers may vary depending on what we are trying to capture, the location, and time of year. Generally speaking, you'll want to avoid any text, screen tees, bold patterns or anything that can distract from the most important part of the image...your eyes and face! For sessions with multiple people, I will guide you on how to coordinate harmonious colors for a cohesive, pleasing look.
Do I get all the digital files with my session fee?: No. The session fee is a separate charge for the time, equipment, gas and talent to create your images and slideshow. The "product deposit" that is due at time of booking will be a credit you can use towards all the product options, including the digital files sold by individual pose.
